Internship of PhD student from University of Milan in Wrocław


Whole February (2-28.02.2022) Department of Reproduction with the Clinic of Farm Animals of the UPWr hosted a PhD student from Univeristy of Milan – Isa Mohammed Alkali. At home University, he is working on gonadal tissue banking in animal models. In Wrocław, under supervision of Professor Wojciech Niżański, he performed experiments aimed to optimize vitrification and tissue culture protocols for feline ovarian tissue. Also, in partnership with the University of Medicine Wrocław, he performed experiments to optimize histological and immunohistochemical (IHC) protocols for assessment of vitrified tissues. The experiments conducted would serve as the foundation for his PhD thesis and thus were essential in ensuring the success of Isa’s research project.
