1. Workshop on modeling pharmacokinetic processes based on advanced population methods

In the summer of 2021, workshops will be organized with the participation of prof. Mochel from ISU and already trained Polish scientists who participated in an academic exchange with ISU as part of the project. The workshop target group are all interested scientists from Poland and abroad.
The workshop will consist of both the presentation of a theoretical introduction to the modeling of nonlinear mixed effects (NLME), and the presentation of a computer program that can be used for such analysis, and which is currently free for academic units (Monolix). Participants will learn the structure of hierarchical models, their advantages over classical modeling, as well as their wide application in biomedical sciences. Then, they will be able to independently analyze the sample data, build a model and validate it under the supervision of instructors (Prof. Mochel and UPWr employees). In this way, participants with their own data will be able to establish important scientific contacts that can result in publications using more advanced computational methods.
The workshops will allow Polish scientists to increase their competences in the field of nonlinear modeling. As it is a universally applicable instrument, participants from different scientific fields (veterinary, medicine, toxicology, biology and others) are expected to come forward. Thanks to this, it will be possible to exchange experiences in the broadly understood field of science, which will allow to identify key areas of potential scientific cooperation and expand the possibilities of joint application to EU or national programs.

Workshops will be held on 27-28 June 2022

2. A series of workshops on assisted animal reproduction techniques

In the years 2021-2022, workshops will be held successively at all Partner cooperating in the field of reproduction (UPWr, UGent, ENVA, UniMi, Vetmeduni)
The workshops will be of a scientific nature and will be conducted by leading scientists of the cooperating centers. The participants will be young scientists and doctoral students from European and non-European countries. The workshops will concern the most important scientific issues related to the contemporary problems of rapid reduction of the reproductive potential of animals and humans as a result of the impact of civilization factors. Each workshop will consist of a theoretical introduction and a practical part, during which participants will learn individual reproductive biotechnologies (gamete collection, assessment and maintenance, artificial insemination). The workshops will be conducted in English.

The topics of individual parts of the workshop:
Workshops I ART in rescue of endangered animals. Course Master W. Niżański (UPWr)
Workshop II Gamete preservation in small and large animal models. Course Master G.C. Luvoni (UniMi)
Workshop III Assisted Reproduction - Comparative aspects between large and small animals. Course Master A. van Soom (UGent)
Workshops IV Spermatology. Course Master S. Schaefer-Somi/C. Aurich (Vetmeduni)
Workshops V Clinical aspects of feline reproduction: an update. Course Master A. Fontbonne (ENVA)
