An internship of PhD student from UPWr in Paris-Alfort

From 31st of March 2022 till 26th of May 2022, a PhD student from UPWr, Kenneth Abah performed a research internship at L'École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (Small Animal Reproduction Clinic). His supervisor was prof. Alain Fontbonne, who is also a co-supervisor of his PhD thesis.

During the stay, the PhD student focused on assessment of novel marker of sperm quality – protein ProAKAP4, which he analysed in canine spermatozoa by ELISA method. This part of internship will be continued in Wrocław and became a prat of his doctoral thesis. Additionally Kenneth was trained on the routine Artificial Reproduction Techniques in dogs – semen collection and cryopreservation, and artificial insemination of bitches. Also, the student had a chance to get skills in the field of reproductive ultrasound and diagnosis and management of reproductive pathologies.
