On June 17th, 2021, the first part of a series of workshops organized as part of the NAWA ScienceNet project (no. PPI/APM/2019/1/00044) on reproductive biotechniques took place. The organizer of the event was the Department of Reproduction and Clinic of Farm Animals, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (coursemaster Prof. Wojciech Niżański), and co-organizers: EDRA and partners of the ScienceNet project: Ghent University (Belgium), University of Milan (Italy), L'École Nationale Vétérinaire d' Alfort (France) and the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna (Austria). The Committee of Veterinary Sciences and Reproductive Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences was the patron of the event.

The first part was entitled "ART in rescue of endangered animals" and was mainly devoted to the use of reproductive biotechniques in wild animals - felines, equines, reptiles, birds, monkeys and pandas. The lecturers were renowned scientists in the field of animal reproduction: prof. Ann van Soom (Ghent), prof. Gaia Cecilia Luvoni (Milan), prof. Alain Fontbonne (Alfort-Paris), dr Joanna Kochan (Kraków) and prof. Wojciech Nizanski (Wroclaw). Doctoral students and young scientists also had the opportunity to present their achievements: Dr. Ilse Gerits (Ghent), Dr. Sylwia Prochowska (Wrocław), Eline Wydooghe (Ghent) and Isa Mohammed Alkali (Milan).

Due to the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshops were conducted in the online formula and were attended by over 200 people from around the world, more people had the opportunity to watch recordings of the lectures. The lectures, as well as the entire organization of the workshops, met with very positive feedback from the participants. The next part of the workshop is scheduled for November 6th, 2021.
